About the Awards

The Foundation gives an Annual Award to two talented young professionals in the artistic fields of dance and theatre. The finalists are nominated by the Selection Committee, which is comprised of a panel of critics and former performers in each field. The Awards Ceremony is held each December/January at Lincoln Center’s Walter Reade Theater.

Selection Committee: The Selection Committee, comprised of a panel of critics and former performers in the Dance and Theatre fields, is responsible for nominating the finalists for the Annual Clive Barnes Awards.

Clive Barnes supported artists by dedicating his life to appreciating great performances, recognizing promising young professionals, and supporting artistic careers through the art of writing and criticism. The Clive Barnes Foundation gives monetary awards each year to support emerging talent in the New York City performing arts community. Currently in our fourth year of giving, The Clive Barnes Foundation has seen notable growth in our finalists and are very proud of their continued success.
