Companion Rescue[edit]
Rescue by a professional rescue party is often too late to successfully rescue victims of avalanche burial. Therefore it is up to those travelling with the victims to rescue them. This is often called companion resuce. Companion rescue requires a beacon, shovel and probe. Finding and digging out the victim occurs in a few steps.
