I am 21 years old currently studying History and Latin American Studies at Rice University. I spent 9 months between high school and college in the state of Bahia, Brazil learning about its culture, economy, and political environment. Since coming to Rice I have immersed myself in discovering more about Latin America and myself by pursuing coursework relevant to social inequality, history, economics, and international relations. I plan to study abroad to Rio de Janeiro next semester and will continue updating Brazilian articles relevant to my journeys.

Contribution

My personal interests have manifested themselves in my contribution to both Slavery in Brazil and Conservation in Brazil. I am part of a course at Rice University that studies Poverty, Justice and Human Capabilities.
