Azher Ahmed

I’m the EVP/Director of Digital at DDB in Chicago. Prior to that, I’ve built and led the digital marketing offering at advertising and marketing agencies including The Martin Agency, Arnold, FCB, and Townsend (now a part of Epsilon).

My career has spanned from strategy through deployment, design through development, and theory through application across digital and traditional media channels. I help make sense of the often-chaotic media landscape and believe good leadership is involved and accountable throughout.

Since the 90s, I’ve led technology and brand marketing efforts across virtually all categories of industry. My clients include McDonald’s, Wal-Mart, State Farm, GEICO, Comcast, Fidelity, Tyson, Abbott Labs and Mars. I started my career as a designer and strongly believe creativity is vital to solving large, complex business challenges.

Along the way, there have been numerous award-winning campaigns and platforms spanning mobile, web, gaming, experiential, e-mail, social and online commerce. I’ve spoken at numerous conferences including Social Media Week (NY and Chicago), SXSW, Advertising Week, Internet Week and colleges/universities. I’ve also delivered webinars for organizations such as the American Marketing Association and am honored to be an Executive Member of IADAS (The Webby Awards) and various IAB initiatives including MIXX.

The press seems to like my random bantering and I’m quoted with regularity.

I registered here a while back and lurk quite a bit, occasionally entering into the dark recesses of Wikipedia editing.
