Current real life status[edit]

First year student in medical school at Université de Sherbrooke, QC, Canada. I should acquire my M.D. in 3,5 years and see from then on what to specialise in!

Introduction[edit]

Hello, this is my user page!

I have joined Wikipedia as a user in december 2005.

I have read on wikipedia for ages, but only now did I decide to contribute what I know.

Already, I'm a wikiholic: I scored 226 at the test lol.

Talk to me about everything in the discussion section, especially if it concerns articles.

I edit some pages in french under the same name.

My allegiances[edit]

General[edit]

gkThis user is a geek.
I have solemnly engaged to respect and spread Wikilove :).

Language[edit]

frCet utilisateur a pour langue maternelle le français.
en-4This user can contribute with a near-native level of English.

es-0Este usuario no entiende español (o lo entiende con mucha dificultad).

Working on that one: I have courses at the moment, but they are only the basics.

  • This user page is half serious. You'll find my opinions and my personality, but you'll also see the serious articles I have edited and my ambitions. This page is, after all, the only place on Wikipedia where you can post your opinion, so I'm using this page for that and other things.

Who I am[edit]

Name: Paul-Augustin.

Birthday: May 7th 1987.
That makes me... this math is so hard! 19 :p.

Profession: Student (first year of university).

Education: (in order of latest, in parenthesis means estimated date of graduation)

  1. Medicinæ Doctor, Université de Sherbrooke (2010).
  2. DEC, Collège de Bois-de-Boulogne1, Medical sciences, May 2006.
  3. High school diploma, Collège Laval2, June 2004.

Maternal language: French

Why am I writting in English?
Because Wikipedia has the most articles in English, and my textbooks are in English.

Articles you definitely should read[edit]

  • Flying spaghetti monster
  • The book : The Ultimate Hitchhicker's Guide, by Douglas ADAM, which contain 5 incredible stories.

Articles I have contributed to[edit]

As of yet, my list is quite small, however I intend to contribute much more over the next years, because my courses will be much more in depth and the libraries will be even more plentiful (can't wait until University).

Favorite quotes[edit]

  • Adam, from MythBusters
    • "I reject your reality and substitute my own"
  • Albedo
    • "I saw the leaning tower of culture that humans have struggled to construct. It's not even a tower, really, it's a scaffold of rotting wood, built with meager knowledge and pitiful tools."
  • Albert Einstein
    • "I sometimes wonder if it's me or the other people that's insane."
    • "There are two infinite things: the Universe, and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the former"
  • Allison Cameron4
    • "Sex could kill you. Do you know what the human body goes through when you have sex? Pupils dilate, arteries constrict, core temperature rises, heart races, blood pressure skyrockets, respiration becomes rapid and shallow, the brain fires bursts of electrical impulses from nowhere to nowhere, and secretions spit out of every gland, and the muscles tense and spasm like you're lifting three times your body weight. It's violent, it's ugly and it's messy, and if God hadn't made it unbelievably fun, the human race would have died out eons ago. Men are lucky they can only have one orgasm. Do you know that women can have an hour long orgasm?"
  • Anonym
    • "Nine out of ten voices in my head say I'm sane."
  • Chef Brian3
    • "There is little we can do but sit and wish for the days of cactus filled walnuts and the last tuna in polka-dotted shorts"
  • Douglas Adam
    • "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."
    • "In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry, and has been widely regarded as a bad idea."
    • "A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools."
    • "Space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly hugely mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space."
    • "Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."
  • Fable (Xbox game)
    • "It is better to keep your mouth shut and look like an idiot than to open it and prove you are."
  • Gregory House4
    • "Do I get bonus points if I look like I care?"
    • "From an evolutionary point of view, I suggest you should stop having sex... forever..."
    • "What turns you on? Casual sex? Rough sex? Casual rough sex? I'm a doctor, I need to know."
    • [We've got an MRI scheduled in twenty minutes; it's the earliest we could get the machine.]
-"I teach you to lie and cheat and steal and the second my back is turned you wait in line."
  • Niels Bohr
    • "Your theory is crazy, but it's not crazy enough to be true."

Great things[edit]

Now this is for things I just find great. This section can only grow bigger with time.

Euler's formula[edit]

e + 1 = 0
Maths geeks will agree: that's one pretty formula :p

House[edit]

Favorite TV show, ever.

Sonata Arctica[edit]

My favorite metal band at the moment. Whenever I feel down, they get me back up.
The concert at the Medley, in Montreal, on January 21st was KICK ASS :D.

The Phantom of the Opera[edit]

As if music and plays weren't great alone, a great play with great music just has to be great. I just love The Phantom of the Opera.

For the love of what you believe in, don't plagiarize my page[edit]

Check the history, this page was created way before some that look like it. And I do not have a sock puppet. Ok, it's an online encyclopedia of sharing, but user pages are supposed to have originality. Sure you can take inspiration, but at least use bibliographical notices or say thank you in the discussion section... Sorry if I got emotional there: it happens.
