Mid-Term

To improve the “Defense of the Marriage Act” WikiPage I am going to enact a threefold change to the page. First, I have notice several grammatical errors and innapropiate language in the body of the page. The article needs to be stricken of any and all biased language. Although the effects of DOMA have a lightning rod effect in American politics there is no need for the article to be biased in such a manner. The article should be free of opinion. Clearing up this language issue will make the article easier to read and more accessible by the general public. Second, a citation is needed in the section titled “Constitutionality” to add credibility to the articles claims. Finally, the overall outline and structure of the article needs to be revised. A separate section that details the history and creation of the law needs to be created, instead of housing this information in the main body of the article. The main body should contain just the facts, and separate section can contain the cultural significance of the law. By editing these three areas I hope to raise the articles quality standard from C-class to at least B-class.

Check up[edit]

Andrew, to put it lightly, you have done none of this. Within these last few weeks, and especially tonight, you need to make substantial positive changes to the DOMA article in order to fulfill the requirements for your final. PatBerger (talk) 23:04, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

"No Child Left Behind"[edit]

I've chosen to begin work on another policy page because of the lack of new information I can provide on the page for DOMA. The new page I've selected is No Child Left Behind. In reviewing the page I noticed an egregious lack of information on the Bush budget cuts from four years ago that resulted in public schools cutting educational programs to focus solely on meeting the testing standards of NCLB. Also: the information under the reform section is outdated, and needs to have Obamas most recent State of the Union goals added. Aeforrest (talk) 21:49, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
