I was born 7/18/25. I have a PhD. from Columbia University in clinical psychology. After practicing for 30 years, I retired in 1980. I first started reading about Buddhism in 1955. Since 1970 with the publication and translation of more Buddhist texts to English I have read consistently and substantially in the field. I have also been actively practicing since 1970, mostly on my own, but I have done Zen workshops with 4 different Zen masters, all of whom have published at least one or more books on Zen.

At this point I am willing to consider myself an authority on Buddhism, although somewhat reluctantly. The field is so broad and its literature so substantial no one is or can be a complete authority. I am beginning to contribute to Wikipedia by editing and expanding one article: Conceptual Proliferation.
