This article is a to-do list regarding the November 2015 name change of the Percy Jackson Task-force.

If you'd like to help out: Choose a list object that is not crossed out and begin working on it. If your edits will take more than a few hours' time to complete, please type in progress by User:Your Username after the list item, so other editors know what's going on. Use <s>...</s> to cross out the list item when it has been completed, and feel free to sign and otherwise take ownership of your edits. Inform the coordinator if it's your first time helping with this specific to-do list. Always inform interested parties about changes you make/plan, especially WP:NV.

Graphic artist needed! How can the Rick Riordan Task-Force update its pages to make them new and attractive to potential members? A new home page style? A new logo? A barnstar award?

Page movement[edit]

  1. Move project page from Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/Percy Jackson Task Force to Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/Rick Riordan Task Force.
    Change the following redirects to bring users to the new project page. Do not move these pages. Redirect #1; Redirect #2
    Move the following redirect to create a shortcut useful for the task-force: Redirect #3. Moved to WP:RRTF.
    Note: Also fixed Redirect #4, Redirect #5, Redirect #6, Redirect #7 [this one was moved to Redirect A], and Redirect #8.
  2. Move the talk page,/s>, and archive old discussions. (Also moved archived pages.)
  3. Move project subpages to appropriate names. Subpages to be moved include: Wikipedia:PJTF/Update, Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/Percy Jackson Task Force/Members, and Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/Percy Jackson Task Force/to do.
  4. Determine whether to move the categories found here. Please read this page before taking action. Do not forget to move the talk page.
  5. Consider moving or creating a redirect linking to the project sandbox.

Note: WP:PJTF has several other subpages (shown below) which must be dealt with.

Template modification[edit]

If unsure about how to proceed with one of these items, start a discussion on the WP:PJTF talk page or the talk page of the template in question. When moving pages, do not forget to move associated talk pages.

  1. Update Wikipedia:PJTF/Update to read Rick Riordan Task Force Alerts. Style changes? Discuss!
  2. Consider updating the project userbox. (Remember that this is connected to [Category:Percy Jackson task force participants this category]) Also consider creating a new userbox and leaving the old one intact. Please see here: {Wikipedia:Wikiproject Novels/Outreach/User Rick Riordan Task Force}}

  3. Update Template:PJwel and Template:PJwel/doc; consider moving them or creating a redirect Page was moved to RRwel.
    Note: Creating a redirect may be safer than moving the pages, to prevent loss of this template on pages where it has been used {see subst. issue immediately above).
  4. Update Template:PJinvite and Template:PJinvite/doc. Consider moving or creating redirect (see above note). Page was moved to RRinvite.

Renaming[edit]

  1. Go through Percy Jackson/Rick Riordan Task-force pages and subpages; change all appearances of "Percy Jackson Task force" to "Rick Riordan Task force".
  2. Go through all Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels pages and subpages; change all appearances of "Percy Jackson Task force" to "Rick Riordan Task force".

Involving other Wikiprojects[edit]

The Percy Jackson/Rick Riordan Task Force is a descendant task force of WikiProject Novels. As a result, some edits may be required on the pages of the parent project, among other projects'. The following is a list, with links, to pages which have been identified as needing changes.

Sort of taken care of by putting Rick Riordan stuff inside Category:Percy Jackson task force.

Other[edit]

  1. Consider developing a method of informing members, former members, and invitees about the name change. Contact User:2ReinreB2 for a list of some recent invitees.
  2. Consider contacting Wikiproject X about assisting with the Rick Riordan Task Force.
    Mention the potential need to update the page Wikipedia:Related WikiProjects/WikiProject Novels/Percy Jackson Task Force. This was taken care of by itself; page is now located here and seems fairly accurate.
  3. Consider suggesting coverage of the name change to the Signpost, or writing an article about it yourself.
    Check out the WikiProject desk for some ideas! Note: This desk has been defunct for some time now, but is still worth looking at.
  4. Update the project's subscription to article alerts (if necessary).
    Unsure whether a resubscribe is necessary, but left a note here asking for help doing so.
    Seems to be running smoothly now; might need to be checked over for any leftovers from the move. (1/6/16)
  5. Update the "task force articles by quality and importance" graphic, which is run by WP 1.0 bot. Basic instructions can be found here.
  6. Perform a general copyedit and wikilink-check of project pages; clean up any mistakes or broken formatting that is a result of the move.
