Tyra Caterina Grant is an American tennis player. She won the girls' doubles titles at the 2023 French Open and the 2024 Australian Open.

Early and personal life[edit]

Born and raised in Italy, Grant is the daughter of American former basketball player Tyrone Grant who relocated to Italy to play basketball and Cinzia Giovinco, an Italian model.[1] She trained at the Riccardo Piatti Academy in Bordighera, before later moving to Orlando, Florida to train with the United States Tennis Association.[2][3] She has a younger brother called Tyson who is also a tennis player.[4] Her mother also acts as her manager.[5]

Career[edit]

In December 2022, Grant partnered Iva Jovic to win the doubles title at the Orange Bowl in Miami Beach.[6]

She won the final of the girls' doubles draw at the 2023 French Open as a fifteen year-old, alongside partner Clervie Ngounoue against the top seeds Alina Korneeva and Sara Saito.[7][8]

She has a career-high ITF junior combined ranking of 12 achieved on 1 January 2024.
