Parareptilia[edit]

Should we be using this instead of Parareptilia? Are they the same thing? This article suggests Anapsida is out:

  • Tsuji, L. A.; Müller, J. (2009). "Assembling the History of the Parareptilia: Phylogeny, Diversification, and a New Definition of the Clade". Fossil Record. 12 (1). John Wiley & Sons: 71–81. doi:10.1002/mmng.200800011.

Is there a discussion of which to use? thanks, ErikHaugen (talk) 07:17, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Anapsida is recognised as a paraphyletic group, and should not be anchored in Sauropsida. Sauropsida encompass only the critters after the synapsid/saurapsid spilt, while anapsida encompass amniotes from before the split as well. Petter Bøckman (talk) 09:09, 27 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
