The name of this company on this template is incorrect.[edit]

The correct name for the two Sig Sauer companies are Sig Sauer, GMBH and Sig Sauer, Inc.

Sig Sauer, GMBH was formed by a partnership of SIG (Schweizerische Industrie Gesellschaft, The Swiss Industrial Company) and J. P. Sauer & Sohn, of Germany.

Later a US company orignally known as Sigarms changed it's name to Sig Sauer Inc..

In this pistols section, the ONLY model that was EVER an SIG model was the P210. The P210 is now jointly produced as the Sig Sauer P210 both in Ekenforde, DE, and Exeter, NH, USA.

All other models in this list are Sig Sauer models and were NEVER SIG models. The last firearms products that SIG produced are the military assault rifles which it split off to form a new company called Swissarms. SIG today makes ONLY food packaging machinery and is now Sig Holding, AG.

Every handgun listed as a Sig is incorrectly listed except the original P210. The current P210 is a Sig Sauer model. Digitallymade (talk) 18:42, 13 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
