Hi,

Thanks for creating this template.

Several former Olympic classes that be added to this template:

  • Ton Classes (0.5 ton, 0.5 - 1 ton, 1 - 2 ton, 2 - 3 ton, 3 - 10 ton 10 - 20 ton & open ton class)
  • Square Meter Skerry Cruiser Class ( 30m2, 40m2)
  • Metre classes (6.5 Metre, 7 Metre, 8 Metre, 10 Metre and 12 Metre)

When Olympic history of these classes is needed I can provide to some extent.

Furthermore I like you to inform that a movement is in progress that former Olympic classes are joining the Vintage Yachting Games organization. A joined venture of those classes with as mayor purpose to organize every 4 years a post-Olymic event for the top sailors per country in those classes. The first Vintage Yachting Games took place in 2008 in Medemblik. The Second one will take place at Lake Como Italy. More information can be found in Vintage Yachting Games.

My question is can you add in the template a extra line for those Vintage Olympic Classes. These classes have also a special tag in the Infobox Sailboat Specifications template. At this moment the following classes are Vintage Olympic Classes:

  • Europe
  • O-Jolle
  • Flying Dutchman
  • Yngling
  • Soling
  • Dragon
  • 5.5 Metre

For 2012 the Vintage Yachting Games Organization is also expecting the following classes to join the movement:

  • 12' Dinghy
  • Tornado
  • Tempest

Thanks for your help.

Why is the 15 metre class in this template? Should it not be removed? Nuttyrave (talk) 07:19, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The 15 Metre is a former Olympic class. It was open for entries in 1920. However no entries were made.NED33 (talk) 15:22, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
