inclusion of all franchise season years[edit]

@Charlesaaronthompson: The current standard for these NBA navboxes Category:National Basketball Association team specific seasons navigational boxes is inclusion of all names and franchise season years. This can be seen in the render of these navboxes at the bottom of the associated team pages of relocated franchises:

Therefore, this edit has been reverted to the consensus behavior. UW Dawgs (talk) 20:04, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

That might be true, but Wikipedia still has Template:Buffalo Braves seasons and Template:Seattle SuperSonics. I reverted the template back to where it previously was. Please leave this edit alone. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 21:33, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
WP:OTHERSTUFF. The existence of other templates does not negate the franchise's history, or change the current NBA consensus of how multiple names and locations are handled in these navboxes. The current consensus is to render each of the franchise's names and associated season years:

@UW Dawgs: Yes, I know that all seasons of a specific franchise (including the seasons played in a previous city/previous team nickname) should be listed in the template. However, the reason why I reverted the template back was to make the appearance of the template look similar to Template:Los Angeles Clippers seasons, which has Template:Buffalo Braves seasons underneath the title. My issue is that there should be consistency throughout every NBA team's season templates. I just think Template:Seattle SuperSonics needs to be listed underneath the template title, similar to the Clippers' seasons template. Those two team templates are, IMO, the only exceptions to the rule, because they have their own separate templates. Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 23:25, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Nice catch. Template:Los Angeles Clippers seasons also should be updated with inclusion of all names and season years, for consistency as shown in the numerous examples above. There is nothing different about the LAC and OKC franchise relocations, from the relocated franchises shown above. For "consistency," let's actually be consistent with these two. @UW Dawgs: Sorry for the snarky comment from before. In the spirit of collaboration, I'm OK with it if you want to go ahead and merge Template:Buffalo Braves seasons with Template:Los Angeles Clippers seasons (and update the title of the template, too), and I guess I'm also OK with it if you want to to go ahead and merge Template:Seattle SuperSonics seasons with Template:Oklahoma City Thunder seasons (and update the title of the template, also). Charlesaaronthompson (talk) 00:22, 28 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Done, both have been updated and are now consistent. You're welcome to independently pursue merge requests with associated rationale. UW Dawgs (talk) 00:37, 28 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
