Pokémon apps are not Nintendo's responsiblity[edit]

This list should be renamed "Pokémon applications for smart devices", and Miitomo removed. The Pokémon Company handles the release of Pokémon-related apps on mobile devices, not Nintendo, even if the latter owns the Pokémon franchise. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hope(N Forever) (talkcontribs)

Well, it kind of depends on where you draw the line and how we want to organize this. Nintendo still owns the rights to Pokemon, and gave significant funding to Pokemon Go. Anyways, if you split the templates between Pokemon and Nintendo developed, you'd likely get both deleted, as there's probably too few entries to warrant a Nav template. Honestly, there's barely enough to warrant it combined... Sergecross73 msg me 13:05, 8 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Why would Miitomo be removed? It's a first-party developed app. But I agree with Serge, this navbox should just be deleted until a more substantial number of games are released (after Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing's apps). ~ Dissident93 (talk) 19:28, 8 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
On top of what Sergecross said, the intent of a navbox is to assist navigation. Visitors likely care for Nintendo IPs on smartphones rather than the internal organization structure of Nintendo and TPC. Pokémon does not belong in the DeNA initiative, but the DeNA initiative is not the extent of Nintendo's involvement in the mobile space, eg. Pokémon GO Plus is also developed by Nintendo. --Ash Pokemaster (talk) 07:36, 11 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Delete[edit]

The navbox guidelines say that, "There should be a Wikipedia article on the subject of the template." While it's likely that Nintendo's mobile strategy will eventually split out into its own article, I don't see why this template would be needed until then as the items have no lasting connection besides their novelty as Nintendo's first mobile titles. I personally feel like it'd make more sense to create that article, than delete the template. But that's not an article I'd currently be interested in personally writing such an article, so I guess I don't feel that strongly about it either way. The games should still be included together somewhere else though, I would think. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 22:54, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
For future reader's sake, since this discussion began, the article Nintendo mobile games has been created, resolving this issue. Sergecross73 msg me 19:42, 6 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Should we now move the template's title to "Nintendo mobile games" to better reflect its primary article, and also WP:CONCISE? ~ Dissident93 (talk) 21:00, 6 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Makes sense. I'm fine with that. Sergecross73 msg me 19:36, 7 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Done and also fixed the template on each article. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 20:22, 7 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
