Computer code beside the image[edit]

At Alex Fagan and Neil McLeod (police officer), and presumably any article that uses this template with a picture that isn't big enough, computer code appears to the left and right of the picture, which is nonsense to most readers. Art LaPella (talk) 19:49, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

After SlimVirgin's edits, Neil McLeod is fixed, but not Alex Fagan. Art LaPella (talk) 20:56, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Art, that's fixed now. SlimVirgin TALK|CONTRIBS 21:37, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

thank you Art LaPella (talk) 21:44, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Adjusting the width[edit]

Does anyone know what I'd have to type to make this a bit narrower on a particular article? SlimVirgin TALK|CONTRIBS 16:33, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Managed to fix it. Pigs do indeed fly. :) SlimVirgin TALK|CONTRIBS 21:37, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It appears as though "years of service" is causing all the new text to be pushed too far to the right. Can we make "years of service" bump into a second line in order to reduce the length of this phrase?

"Service" field[edit]

The "service" field outputs the title "Service branch", when per the documentation the field is intended for the "Country based in". Would someone please be so kind as to change this to something more appropriate?—DocWatson42 (talk) 05:00, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I second this notion; it appears to be a mistake. Illegitimate Barrister (talk) 15:16, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I changed the "service branch" field to "country" to be more fitting. Illegitimate Barrister (talk) 04:56, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! ^_^ —DocWatson42 (talk) 04:45, 7 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Embedding voice files[edit]

A project I'm running, and a related event in mid-January will soon add around a thousand recordings of article subjects' voices to their biographies. I'd like to embed those in the relevant infoboxes, as in this example (using {{Infobox person}}). Can we add the necessary |module= parameter to this template? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 16:31, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No, please - give them their own little box. Much too crufty and against WP:INFOBOX principles. Of course adding them is an excellent idea, but not in the main box. Johnbod (talk) 18:03, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes please. Nobody except Johnbod would prefer an ugly separate box to an elegant integration within the infobox. It works well with {{infobox person}}, and it should be just as useful in this template. --RexxS (talk) 20:12, 20 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I have no problem with that. If an editor doesn't want to use it, then they just leave it blank. Illegitimate Barrister 08:54, 4 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Eductation[edit]

Also, can we add an education or alma mater component? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Babelfisher (talkcontribs) 08:28, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'll do this in a day or two. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 00:30, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Birth/death dates[edit]

Any chance that this template could use the same style that DOB/DOD and their places are listed at infobox person/infobox officeholder, etc.? – Connormah (talk) 01:39, 10 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'll do this in a day or two. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 00:30, 17 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Charles Bordeleau[edit]

Please can someone familiar with this infobox review its use on Charles Bordeleau? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:58, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Embeddable?[edit]

Could this be made embeddable so that it can be used with Infobox person? Hack (talk) 11:53, 3 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hack, possible, but it would be odd since this uses {{infobox person}}. can you provide an example of where you would like to embed this infobox? Frietjes (talk) 16:32, 5 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Convert for embedding[edit]

Could someone make this infobox embedabble with Infobox officeholder. I am looking to use this template for police officers who has held office such as Ronald dela Rosa where the Infobox military officer is used erroneously. Thanks.Hariboneagle927 (talk) 17:57, 13 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox police officer does not have spouse[edit]

Hi wikipedias, I added spouse to this infobox but it does not show up. So I added infobox person. How do I merge the spouse contents into a single box? See Lee Baca. Thanks... SWP13 (talk) 23:20, 30 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

military service[edit]

Should we have a spot for military service? I am working on Leslie Coffelt and despite serving in the army during WW2 I can not include that in the infobox. LuxembourgLover (talk) 01:56, 25 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
