Edit request from 117Avenue, 30 January 2011[edit]

{{edit protected}} Please add the Hudson's Bay Company flag, as seen on Flag of the Northwest Territories, to this template. Renamed files[edit]

Please replace File:Flag of Canada 1921.svg with File:Canadian Red Ensign 1921-1957.svg. It was renamed on Commons. Fry1989 eh? 01:12, 22 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on 3 June 2013[edit]

Please revert Urhixidur's edit, as discussed above there is no evidence that the added flag ever existed, it also incorrectly uses the var4 field.

Done Fixed. My apologies, I was going for completeness, mistakenly assuming wikimedia had properly vetted the image. There is some evidence for the 1959 Blue Ensign (i.e. http://nationsflags.blogspot.ca/2011/09/northwest-territories.html), but I agree it is thin. Urhixidur (talk) 11:27, 3 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Template-protected edit request on 9 September 2021[edit]

Please change the Hudson's Bay Company flag to the 1868 version of the Canadian Red Ensign. The notion that the HBC flag was used as a territorial flag is based on a Wikipedia editor's misreading of a sentence in Fraser's book. "The flags of the Hudson's Bay Company, particularly its red ensign, continued to be seen in both territories up until comparatively modern times" does not mean that the territorial authorities used it as their flag; it just means the HBC itself continued to use it.

Also, 1870 is the year is NWT was established, not 1869, so the template should use that year.

Change "flag alias-1869 = Hudsons Bay Company Flag.svg"
