Supergroups are obsolete[edit]

This navlist is basically obsolete, relying on a taxonomic attempt to force all eukaryotes into 8 "supergroups", something that quickly came to be seen as artificial, creating paraphyletic groupings. We shouldn't be propagating this in what is apparently 1000 places across Wikipedia. Chiswick Chap (talk) 15:36, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

These nav templates here should be regrouped, just like {{Opisthokont protists}} was added in 2016, maybe Diaphoretickes recently identified as monophyletic couled group here? --Htmlzycq (talk) 15:05, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That one is actually a clade, unlike a lot of the other stuff which needs to be consigned to the bin marked "R". The problem for this navlist is that the 8 "supergroups" have been replaced by many smaller clades, the Diaphoretickes and the Amorphea being the two large exceptions. That should remove the paraphyletic group like {{Excavata}}, Replace with monophyletic group like Diaphoretickes and Amorphea only.--Htmlzycq (talk) 08:16, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We don't have subsidiary navboxes for Diaphoretickes and Amorphea (just ordinary articles). I'll put them in as placeholders for now. Also, "Hacrobia" is also probably paraphyletic. Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:45, 21 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
