Normal usage[edit]

This symbol is mostly used for user pages and signatures. Keep in mind, that usage of transclusion in signatures is forbidden (see WP:SIG#NoTemplates). Usage of substitution is highly discouraged.

For example, if User:Example wanted to stylize his signature, he would make is signature the following:

[[User:Example]] {{subst:★}} ([[User talk:Example]])

Becomes

User:Example ★ (User talk:Example)

Or:

[[User:Example]] [[User talk:Example|{{subst:Star symbol}}]]

Becomes

User:Example ★

This template can also be used for star-related articles.
