Template:Dotbelow

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Returns the "dot below" form of a letter. given the plain (unmodified) Latin letter, upper or lower case. See Dot (diacritic) for details. This template can be transcluded (e.g.: {{dotbelow|A}}) or substituted (e.g.: {{subst:dotbelow|A}}). Returns the HTML entity encoding if the "h" parameter is used. E.g.: {{subst:dotbelow|h=M}} leaves "&#7746" in the Wikitext, which is displayed as "Ṃ". (Except for X and x, which apparently do not have HTML entity codes.)

Specify "*" to return a list of dot-below letters:

  • {{dotbelow|*}} → Ạạ Ḅḅ Ḍḍ Ẹẹ Ḥḥ Ị ị Ḳḳ Ḷḷ Ṃṃ Ṇṇ Ọọ Ṛṛ Ṣṣ Ṭṭ Ụụ Ṿṿ Ẉẉ X̣x̣ Ỵỵ Ẓẓ

Intended to replace single-character templates that return only that letter, and only in a single case. For other characters with diacritics use {{H:lat}}.
