William Paston (died 1444)[edit]

  • ... that the letters of the family of William Paston are "the richest source there is for every aspect of the lives of gentlemen and gentlewomen of the English middle ages"?

Created by NinaGreen (talk). Self nominated at 01:27, 21 September 2013 (UTC). Hook won't work: it's a substantial nonfree quote. Since it comes from an authoritative source whose opinion matters, it's a good example of fair-use in the text, but we're not allowed to use nonfree material on the Main Page. What if you paraphrased the quote for the hook? Nyttend (talk) 04:08, 22 September 2013 (UTC)

  • Thanks. Didn't know that. Perhaps an alternate hook? NinaGreen (talk) 16:09, 22 September 2013 (UTC)
ALT1: ... that the family of William Paston, made famous through the Paston Letters, was said to be descended from serfs?

  • Death date is not a usually way of diambiguating a page title. Maybe pagemove to William Paston (lawyer)? Formerip (talk) 10:40, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
    • There are actually a very large number of Wikipedia articles from this period of history which disambiguate by date of death, and in this case it's a useful disambiguator as there are several William Pastons in the family. NinaGreen (talk) 14:50, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
