Warren Remedy[edit]

Warren Remedy

  • Reviewed: Doin' Dirt
  • Comment: Best in Show at Westminster this year is on February 12, so this would work best then. I've included Tikuko as co-creator although their edits are actually outside the DYK timetable (hence why I've listed it as an expansion and not a new article). If it wasn't for their edits then I wouldn't have remembered to do something dog related for this year's show.

Article is new enough and long enough. One questions about sources:

  • What makes Ref #4 (NAPSI) a reliable source?

All of the hooks are properly formatted and sourced, although I prefer the original hook - short and sweet. The image is free, in article, and looks good. So: for now, until the RS niggle is worked out, but otherwise good. Dana boomer (talk) 21:01, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

  • apologies for butting in.....I would also suspect NAPSI is not a reliable source; however, I have just inserted a new ref to Bo Bengtson's book. In the chapter 'Tops in America' writing about Warren Remedy, he states: "..did what no other dog has done in the 100 years since: won Best in Show there three years in a row." Hopefully, this is okay? I haven't deleted the NAPSI ref at present. (sneaks back out of the room again, closing door quietly behind me!) SagaciousPhil - Chat 10:34, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
  • NAPSI (the North American Precis Syndicate) are essentially a republisher of press releases on a variety of topics. I've used the same citation previously in a Featured List nomination without issue. The company describes themselves as "NAPS, or North American Precis Syndicate, distributes feature releases for more than 750 companies, including Nokia, IBM, GM, and SINGER; nonprofit associations, such as the Multiple Sclerosis Society and Boys Town USA; and government agencies such as the Department of Transportation, and the Centers for Disease Control." Miyagawa (talk) 10:51, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
  • I'm still not seeing how its a reliable source. The reader has no idea what company/organization/person authored the information - it could have been Joe Smith from Anywhere, USA, as far as you and I know. The description says nothing about if NAPSI makes checks on the accuracy of the information, or the expertise of the author. If Sagacious Phil has found another reference for this statement, why not use that instead? Dana boomer (talk) 13:54, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
  • Removed the NAPSI reference on the basis that Phil's one covers it. Miyagawa (talk) 19:05, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
  • OK, looks good. Article is now good to go. Dana boomer (talk) 19:54, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
