Würzburger Stein[edit]

The Würzburger Stein vineyard overlooking the Main.

  • ... that a 1540 bottle of wine from Würzburger Stein (vineyard pictured) may have been the oldest wine ever tasted and that an unopened bottle of the wine still exists?
  • Reviewed: Template:Did you know nominations/Finjan, Inc. v. Secure Computing Corp.
  • Comment: Primary ref for oldest wine tasting is offline Wine Miscellany (FN#1) and Vintage (FN#4) but online sources provided for the existence of an unopened bottle today is sourced to online refs (FNs#2 & 5). Note that since there are other contenders for the title of "oldest wine ever tasted", I have the hook saying "may have been" to account for these other contenders.

  • This article is new enough and long enough. There is plenty of discussion in the article on the hook facts and various inline citations so I think that aspect is covered. The image is interesting and appropriately licensed. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 18:23, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
