Titanic (restaurant)[edit]

  • Reviewed: Steam hammer
  • Comment: Yep, going for the April Fools sets with this one. Wasn't sure whether to go with "sank" or sank, as it was a quote - but this is an intentionally decieving hook for fish day and I didn't know how far to push.

  • The hook looks fine, but I'm not sure it's such a great April Fool's hook since it's pretty obvious it's not referring to the ship. Might just as well be run now IMO, unless you'd prefer to have it held over. Gatoclass (talk) 08:14, 17 August 2013 (UTC)
  • I'm not opposed to it running straight away - but I thought it might be too deceiving for a normal set. Miyagawa (talk) 19:01, 17 August 2013 (UTC)
  • There are probably many other April 1 hooks possible here... "David Beckham/Spice Girls were in the Titanic" ... "before its demise the Titantic was operating at half capacity" ... "was called a total waste of life" ... "was said to have "sinking" standards before its demise" ... etc. --ThaddeusB (talk) 04:44, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
  • Alt1:... that David Beckham and the Spice Girls were in the Titanic when it launched?
  • Alt2:... that the Atlantic failed to sink the Titanic?
  • Alt3:... that before its demise, the Titanic was operating at half capacity?
  • Alt4:... that the Titanic was described as an "Art-Deco approximation of Hades"?
  • Alt5:... that the Titanic sank near Piccadilly Circus, London, in 2002?
  • Alt6:... that the Titanic had a phone number ending in 1912?
  • Alt7:... that the owners of the Atlantic were annoyed by people trying to phone the Titanic?
  • Added a "few" alts above. Miyagawa (talk) 08:15, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
I like alts 1 and 6 - not so keen on the others. Gatoclass (talk) 04:54, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
  • The article and the hooks meet DYK criteria. I assume good faith on the references because they require a subscription. I like all of the hooks except for ALT2, ALT3, ALT5, and ALT6. I will let the promoter choose the hook. SL93 (talk) 02:34, 23 August 2013 (UTC)
