    • Comment: Article significantly extended to give proper coverage, notably of the main career aspect, painting. DYK check, Nov. 8: "at 5x now, expansion began 104 edits ago on Nov. 3, 2023". Will add QPQ within 48 hours, may come up with 1-2 more alt hooks.

5x expanded by SeoR (talk). Self-nominated at 00:29, 9 November 2023 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Robert Ballagh; consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.

  • Comment: I like this hook, but unfortunately, the first thing I thought was "why was he in prison?" Of course, he wasn't in prison, he taught in prison, but the hook made me think otherwise. I wonder if this is a BLP problem or simply an issue with my overactive imagination. Viriditas (talk) 22:28, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
Thanks Viriditas for the comment - it's always helpful to see work through other eyes, and I could perhaps have worded more precisely; sorry I was unable to respond in a timely way due to illness. SeoR (talk) 00:54, 19 December 2023 (UTC)
    • Approve all hooks. Nominated on time and with a sufficient expansion. It wasn't that short an article to begin with and the expansion is largely fluff-less. RSing on article and hooks with citations in relevant locations. Hooks are interesting and short enough. Image is under rights I don't fully understand but appears to be cleared for use on the main page. Good work. ~ Pbritti (talk) 02:37, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
Many thanks, and glad to see it progress. Expansion was needed but also interesting. SeoR (talk) 00:54, 19 December 2023 (UTC)
