Natya Shastra[edit]

Indian performance arts
Indian performance arts
  • ALT1:... that Natya Shastra is the oldest surviving Hindu encyclopedia on the performing arts (pictured), probably composed between 200 BCE and 200 CE?
  • ALT2:... that the ancient Hindu text Natya Shastra states that the aim of performing arts (pictured) is not just entertainment, but also to enlighten and restore the human potential?
  • Comment: The article was expanded from 11 March 2016‎ baseline; Article size before expansion: 3361 characters / 550 words; now: 24045/3827 (exclusive of tables/refs/img boxes/etc)

5x expanded by Ms Sarah Welch (talk). Self-nominated at 22:19, 14 April 2016 (UTC).

  • Changes were made 13-16 April, so the content is new. I took the March 11 2016 as baseline as the nominator suggested, and there is a 5-fold expansion. I note that there was previously unsourced and supposed copyright violation content in this article that was deleted. It seems in better shape now. The entire article has more than 24k+ characters of prose, so that passes the 1500 requirement. Text meets WP:N and is sourced with appropriate citations. Earwig's tool rates this article as unlikely to be a copyright violation.
The hook is short enough and meets formatting guidelines. The content is interesting. There are three hooks - I like the first one best, but all are suitable. The second and third hook each are backed by their own reliable sources and the first one is backed by many sources.
The nominator did their QPQ to its end. The image proposed has a free license. It is used in the article and would be simple enough to view at 100px if it is used. This passes everything I checked. Blue Rasberry (talk) 02:17, 17 April 2016 (UTC)
