Massachusetts Convention of Towns[edit]

  • ... that the Massachusetts Convention of Towns in 1768 created a war scare, causing prices to drop on the London Stock Exchange? Source: Miller, John C. (September 1934). "The Massachusetts Convention, 1768". The New England Quarterly. 7 (3): 445–474. JSTOR 359673 [1] "A small war scare ran through London when rumors began to spread of the work of the Boston town-meeting and the convention. When news of the activities of the radicals reached London, many expected that the troops would be met with resistance if they attempted to land. The Boston news was so alarming that stocks tumbled on the London exchange."

  • New, sufficiently long, cited to a letter of the era. Mangoe (talk) 02:01, 6 September 2017 (UTC)
  • @Mangoe: you should provide a review that explicitly confirms that the five main DYK criteria have been met. So far you have verified newness, length, and inline hook cite. Please also check for neutrality, close paraphrasing, and whether the QPQ has been done properly. The chart in this article also needs a citation to show where the information came from. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 22:19, 6 September 2017 (UTC)
  • There is a citation, right after "The following towns sent delegates to the convention." --MopTop (talk) 12:13, 8 September 2017 (UTC)
  • Article is neutral and has no apparent copvios. QPQ accepted. The placement of the citation makes sense ("following towns" implies that the citation is for the information that follows), and does not impact the hook regardless. Relying on Mangoe's review for newness, length, and hook. --Usernameunique (talk) 21:26, 9 September 2017 (UTC)
