  • . The aticle is long enough and posted by due date. Hook is interesting and the hook text is part of the caption of the img of Kamala, which is cited and verified. No copy vio noted. Text is neutral. Img is freely licensed. QPQ done. GTG.Nvvchar. 12:03, 12 May 2016 (UTC)
@Yoninah: The 5x expansion requirement of the "previously existing article" was already met with this edit. The fact that more text was copied into the article after this 5x requirement was satisfied should not be considered. Isn't that right? §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 04:12, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
  • @Dharmadhyaksha: Sorry, I made a mistake in the rule number: it should be Rule A5. Rule A4 refers to an article that was blanked and then expanded, using text from the previous version. Rule A5 refers to copied text from a different article.
  • In your article, the copied text comes to 3885 characters. The DYK rule calls for your adding 5x as much text to the new article, which would come to 19,425 characters of total text. The text that you added was in captions, which are not counted toward the character count. Even if you were to make a table going across the page and inserting this text, you do not have 19,425 characters of total text.
  • Regarding the copied text, I do not see anything on the talk pages of either article to indicate what was copied. Please fill out the information in Template:Copied and post it to both talk pages. If you need help, let me know. Yoninah (talk) 13:12, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
Sorry… but am not understanding this. The previous age old prose size of the article was “n” characters. So to make it eligible for DYK I have to do “5n” characters. After having done that I added more “m” characters which were copied from another article. The DYK rule was satisfied just when 5n was done. I added those “m” characters just to make it fall in-line with other similar articles and to get it to FLC. Why should we do “(5n)+(5m)” expansion? Or in other words, won’t the DYK be passed if I have left the page without adding those “m” characters?
I will fill up the templates on the talk pages. I wasn’t aware of this template. I thought that attribution through edit summary was alone sufficient. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 05:38, 1 June 2016 (UTC)
  • @Dharmadhyaksha: we are not talking about your expansion of the present article. We are talking specifically about the text that you copied from a different Wikipedia article (List of Padma Bhushan award recipients (1960–69)) into this one. When you copy text from a different article that is more than 7 days old, you must make sure that your new article has at least 5x more characters than the character count of the text you copied. Since the text you copied into this article was 3885 characters, your new article must be at least 19,425 characters long. Yoninah (talk) 16:40, 1 June 2016 (UTC)
  • If you hadn't copied text from a different article, then your 5x expansion of this article using new, original text would have been fine. Yoninah (talk) 16:48, 1 June 2016 (UTC)
I basically don't agree with this interpretation of A5 and its purpose too. But that's a point to be raised someplace else. @Yoninah: you may close the nomination as failed because I do not want to hamper the quality of article by adding unnecessary stuff to meet the 5x requirement. Thanks though for highlighting this clause which I wasn't aware of till now. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 03:50, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
  • Closing as failed per nominator's request. Montanabw(talk) 04:10, 2 June 2016 (UTC)
