Liberté (poem)[edit]

5x expanded by Gerda Arendt (talk). Self-nominated at 14:35, 6 February 2017 (UTC).

  • New enough, long enough. Neutral. Superficially fails one of the "cite" rules for DYK (a cite for each paragraph). I'm invoking WP:IAR here for paragraph 2, because it discusses the poem itself, so it's effectively sourced to the poem (similar to a plot synopsis for a movie). We should have a cite for where you found the poet's comment, though. It should probably go after "Éluard comments:" just for readability instead of at the end of the quote. I spot-checked what I could for close paraphrasing/copyvios, but mostly AGF due to foreign language and offline sources. The hook is interesting, of appropriate length, and sourced. QPQ completed. This goes beyond the DYK criteria, but my main "question" when reading this article was what motivated the distribution in France and how it came about. Was this organized by French resistance but went through the British Royal Air Force due to the resources? How does that come about? Did the British decide to do this independently to promote resistance in France? How did the occupying forces react to these materials being dropped (presumably, they couldn't be missed)? Some of these questions may not be answerable with available sources, but I'd certainly like to know the answers. If I can help acquire anything to help you research this, please do head over to WP:RX. A delightful read, Gerda! Just the one cite needed to finish this up. ~ Rob13Talk 20:54, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
Thank you for looking and interest, Rob! Well, I found no refs when I translated from French. LouisAlain found some refs for me, and I added him to the makers now. Perhaps the missing one also? - I came from the Poulenc setting and thought this should be more than two lines. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:04, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
I looked and found one ref for the quote, and here's another. I am very basic in French (Just to not believe her) so can't tell what's better. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:17, 6 February 2017 (UTC)
Cite added. @Gerda Arendt: If I could obtain offline references in French related to this topic, would those be useful to you? If so, I'm happy to do it. I have access to at least one French biography on this poet, which is sure to have some mention of the poem. If you're relying on machine translation, that would be less-than-useful, though. ~ Rob13Talk 10:16, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
Go ahead, become a contributor to the article, we'll find another reviewer, - and no rush ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:19, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt: I wouldn't be able to contribute using that source because I don't read French. I could only scan sections relevant to the poem and send them to someone who does read the language. ~ Rob13Talk 10:53, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
LouisAlain then, - I'll look at the added sources, but not right now, - promised a few other topics, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:00, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
@LouisAlain: Would you be interested in expanding the article if I got access to that French-language source? ~ Rob13Talk 11:04, 7 February 2017 (UTC)

Hi Bob, what source in French are you refering to and see what i can do? LouisAlain (talk) 11:30, 7 February 2017 (UTC)

@LouisAlain: It's an offline source; I'll go down to my library today and scan it so you can take a look. Can you shoot me an email so I can respond with the source? ~ Rob13Talk 11:41, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
  • The section "Publication" has a reference formatting error that will need to be sorted out before this is promoted. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 07:09, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
@Cwmhiraeth: Fixed. (The error was created a bit after my review, just for the record.) ~ Rob13Talk 07:25, 16 February 2017 (UTC)

Dieser mann ist alter als Santa Claus and total unfähig ein email Addresse zu opfen durch ein Computer. Codes, numern, Geheimgänge. Nur die Einsicht macht mich krank. A new generation soon will come and take mia piazza; LouisAlain (talk) 07:48, 16 February 2017 (UTC)

  • Replacing Rob's tick nor referencing has been sorted. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:22, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
