- Thanks! I think reviewers tend to shy away from longer articles like this one, which is why I try to review as many "long" articles as I self-nominate for DYK. As far as FA is concerned, the article needs some work for material about BC and eastern Canada, as well as its post-1930s decline and minor splinter groups that pop up infrequently, before I could consider doing that; I do intend to add this material sometime. - Mindmatrix, I noticed that this was running out of time to be promoted as requested in February, but when I went to check the hook I discovered that while 1920s fits the three groups of supporters, the Member of Parliament (Cowan) served from 1930 to 1935, and therefore doesn't count as 1920s. Can you adjust the hook (or propose a new one) that fits the facts as laid out in the article? Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 23:02, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
- Oops. Excuse my gaffe. How about this slight modification (a shade under 200 characters):

- I'm not even sure the image is PD in Canada. How can you claim 50 years after the death of the author, when this is a group collaboration? ALT Hook looks fine. — Crisco 1492 (talk) 02:40, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

- Then you need a template that actually says that. This is not a photograph, but an illustration. Thus, the current template you're using doesn't apply. Then there's the question of whether or not the copyright on this was renewed or not; if List of countries' copyright lengths is correct and anonymous works are 50 years post publication, it should be fine (1930 + 50 = 1980, whereas the URAA wasn't until 1996), but this still needs to be noted on the file page. (Also note that 1949 + 50 is 1999, meaning works published in 1949 would have had their copyright extended in the US). — Crisco 1492 (talk) 23:31, 26 February 2015 (UTC)

- Mindmatrix, I'd like to suggest that we drop the image from the nomination, then. It doesn't translate well at 100x100px—I can't read the logo at that size—and without it, there's nothing to prevent a promotion to prep while we can still get it in under the February wire, which in terms of set building is probably measured in hours. - I'm OK with that. I'm also OK with not running this in February if it causes scheduling conflicts, as the KKK in Canada in the 1920s and 1930s was more about restricting immigration from (primarily Eastern) Europe and making Canada more British than it was about "white power".
