Fatinitza[edit]
- ... that Franz von Suppé's opera Fatinitza casts a female singer as a male army lieutenant whose cross-dressing as a female is so convincing that an elderly General falls in love with him?
- Comment: Hope this is alright. Could drop a clause or two for brevity, but it's under the length. I'm not overly concerned if the image isn't used.

interesting article on good sources. Excellent free picture, but where should (pictured) go? I think the coloured one might be more attractive, - you don't see much in stamp size whichever you use. I find the sourced hook too wordy, and the genders too tricky (starting on female, "ending" on "him". Try it simpler, please, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:20, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

- But it already is sourced. There's a discussion of Wladimir in the lead as a trousers role, and the plot description - all of the plot description - is sourced to the libretto, as indicated at the end of the section. I don't think it's necessary to source the libretto ten times in a row for the summary of the plot, surely? Adam Cuerden (talk) 16:18, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
- Well, I (almost) never have a ref in the lead, so didn't look there. Now I looked: the love-winning fact is not mentioned. (Is it "win", or is there a word to describe that it happens without intention?) Please, to comply with teh rulez, as said above: place the duplicate of the ref at the very sentence.
