Date and length good, within policy. Hook fact may rely on the reader knowing who Ernst Mayr is, but as somebody who does, I find it interesting. But the hook fact directs me to the LSNY's main page, not a page where I can find the information. Can the three LSNY citations be made more specific? That's the only real issue I see here. -- Khazar (talk) 12:07, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
A possible ALT hook:
  • I think this is now ready. I agree with Khazar, long enough and new enough. I've made their suggested alt. into a bulleted ALT1 and will leave the eventual promoter to decide between them; I think both are interesting enough. I pointed the LSNY ref to the specific subpage. I was unable to find the number of hectares for the Rainforest Discovery Center on the Fundación Avifauna Eugene Eisenmann site, and in any case it does not permit me to link directly to subpages, but I'm assuming good faith on that figure and on material from the Auk obituary. I did find small inaccuracies based on the sources I examined, and wording taken from the LSNY page, but I believe I have adequately fixed both problems. The referencing is adequate; both hooks are supported; and the article is neutral and clear. Yngvadottir (talk) 20:29, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
