Interesting "unbelievable" life, fine GA on excellent sources, no copyvio obvious. The hook is acceptable, and I'll approve it it that's what you want, but it's a bit academic. I found teaching in Africa interesting, for example. ... or mention more languages. - In the article, I'd make "last years" (or at least the death part) a para of "Private life", finding it a bit strange to meet his first wife after he died. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:57, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the review, Gerda Arendt. Per your suggestions, i have modified the article Edgar C. Polomé, and added two alternate hooks. Krakkos (talk) 11:37, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
Thank you! Striking the original, as both ALTs are already better. I believe that we don't need "the linguist" because what follows clarifies that, no? In ALT, I don't believe we need a link to "language". In ALT2, I don't need the official name of the university, nor an alternate place name. Perhaps streamline a bit in ALT1a and ALT2a, below please. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:42, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for the suggestions. I've now modified ALT1 and ALT2. Krakkos (talk) 12:16, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
The two are both fine with me. - One more: the See also tells me nothing. Are these other linguists? Perhaps create a navbox? Or just do without? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:19, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
Thanks. Is there something wrong with the sources for the hooks? The people in the see also section are scholars who specialized in the same subjects as Polomé (Germanic and Indo-European religion). Krakkos (talk) 15:41, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
The tick is fine, - I use it whenever any source needs good faith, which I have in some supply ;) - These names - without explanation - tell me nothing. That may be just me. Just a thought to create a navbox of linguists, or American linguists. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:52, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
Alright :) I've added explanations to each of the names. Thanks for the advice. I may add these names to a relevant infobox in the future. Krakkos (talk) 19:51, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
