- ... that widespread debate stemmed from backlash against GameSpot journalist Carolyn Petit after she criticised Grand Theft Auto V's portrayal of women?
- ALT1:... that Grand Theft Auto V received controversy over a mission that requires players to waterboard and torture a hostage?
- ALT2:... that in the wake of controversy surrounding Grand Theft Auto V's depiction of women, Target Australia removed the game from their stores?

- The hook is interesting, verifiable, and of suitable length; I like all three hook suggestions, but I feel as though ALT1 would be more interesting to a general audience, so let's go with that one (let me know if you'd prefer otherwise). QPQ is good. The article is neutral, meets the required length, and is sufficiently referenced. Article was moved to mainspace on 21 January 2015, within seven days of this nomination (DYK nominated on 28 January). So, with that:
