Chicken harvester[edit]

  • ... that the chicken harvester, a machine which can collect up to 8000 birds per hour, is supposed to be less stressful to the animals than human wranglers?

  • Article - created new on 26 June, so new enough; 1694 characters of readable prose, so long enough; neutral; at least one inline citation to every paragraph; no copy vios detected using earwig/duplication detector; I've re-assessed as start class, so not a stub.
  • Hook - within length criteria at 152 characters (I changed 'kinder' to 'less stressful' as that is the wording in the article); correctly formatted; correctly cited/supported by ref #5 in 'Description and function' section; and catchy.
  • QPQ done; no image used.

We almost hit an edit conflict as I tried to add the missing word from the article at the same time. Nomination seems fine to me ... and I'll add 'Happy birthday!' here as well, although I haven't been able to confirm when the big day is! SagaciousPhil - Chat 09:05, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

  • Suggestions: 8000 --> 8,000. Remove "... is supposed to be less stressful to the animals than human wranglers?...". Let them read about it when they get to the article. More info in the hook will reduce hits not increase them. What remains "...that the chicken harvester, a machine which can collect up to 8000 birds per hour..." could be zinged up and condensed to something like:
  • "...that nearly 8,000 birds per hour can be gathered up with the chicken harvester?...".
That hits them with a number right away to draw the eye in, is full of intrigue, and screams, "Click me! What is this crazy machine?? I must know more!". It's short and sweet. It's not perfect, but that's the gist. Anyway, just suggestions. It's also fine like it is. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 01:20, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
