California (novel)[edit]

Created by Stalwart111 (talk). Self nominated at 03:18, 24 July 2014 (UTC).

  • New enough, long enough, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen. It appears that this is the nominator's 5th DYK nom (correct me if I'm wrong), so no QPQ needed. However, the hook could be shorter and jazzier. (Where's EEng when you need him?) Here's one idea:
  • ALT1: ... that the "Colbert Bump" ramped up the print run for Edan Lepucki's debut novel California from 12,000 to 60,000 copies? Yoninah (talk) 00:22, 25 July 2014 (UTC)
  • Yeah, I think it's my 5th, though a couple of the others were collaborations. I certainly don't mind the hook being changed - whatever works best. Stlwart111 01:18, 25 July 2014 (UTC)
  • DYK rules don't allow me to approve my own hook, so calling for new reviewer to sign off on this. Yoninah (talk) 09:18, 25 July 2014 (UTC)
  • Another idea, putting the Colbert Bump later in the hook:
  • ALT2: ... that first-time novelist Edan Lepucki spent three days signing copies of California after the "Colbert Bump" sent sales soaring? Yoninah (talk) 11:27, 25 July 2014 (UTC)
Approved with ALT2 hook. Good to go! Montanabw(talk) 18:24, 25 July 2014 (UTC)
