Zalman Reisen's Death[edit]

Zalman Reisen was arrested by the Soviets a month after they took over Vilna, and after two years of incarceration was charged with anti-Soviet, nationalist Jewish propaganda. When the Soviet war with Germany broke out, in June 1941, Zalman was put on a forced march toward Minsk. Along with four-hundred others who could not keep up with the column, he was shot by the Soviets near the town of Borisov.
