Obviously this page needs to tone down its Turcophilia to WP:NPOV levels.

More to the point, it may be entirely mistaken. Sezen's glossary of Ottoman Turkish toponyms hosted by the Turkish government specifically calls out this Yenisehir as having the Greek and Byzantine name Neapolis ("New City"). If that's a calque into Greek, peachy and just mention and cite that. What's more likely in the abstract would be that Yenisehir would've been a calque out of Greek into Turkish of an existing settlement. (The article's elaborate discussion of a Turkish city built in a barren wilderness is, among other problems, uncited.) — LlywelynII 14:07, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
