Isn't the sound source of the V50 fully digital?[edit]

Quote "based on 4 analog DCO oscillators" >> There are no "analog" oscillators inside the V50 (unless you call ANY kind of oscillator "analog"). From what I know it uses two Yamaha YM2414 chips as FM sound source to achieve 16-voice polyphony (instead of 8-voice polyphony on its 2nd gen FM siblings). So IMHO it's fully digital. The 4 oscillators inside an algorithm are usually called "operators", which can be either a "carrier" or a "modulator" (depending on the role they have inside a specific algorithm).

Just to clarify how I mean it: Analog DCO's can be found inside a Roland Juno-60 or an Oberheim Matrix 6. 2A02:8071:59F1:20C0:FD28:AFA2:8E20:7695 (talk) 13:47, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
