Document FISA database errors

World Rowing Championship Succession Boxes[edit]

Have begun putting in succession boxes at World Champs and Olympic Regatta Venues. Additionally put in some work on some champ venues that didn't exist before. Feel free to contribute to this miniproject. (Durham12 10:44, 20 July 2007 (UTC))[reply]

naming[edit]

What is the point of naming these like "World Rowing Championships"? So, these are Rowing Championships of a sport called World? More like World Championships of Rowing → Rowing World Championships. Quickly looed at Template:Main world championships, and maybe 1/3 are named like this. Isn't there spelling rule concerning these? 85.217.23.66 (talk) 20:18, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed split[edit]

I propose to split the 1978 World Rowing Championships, taking out the lightweight event. As far as I can see, it's the only time the lightweight champs were held at a different place (and time). The main event was in New Zealand during November. This was preceded by the lightweight event in Denmark in August. Any objections or thoughts? Schwede 66 23:01, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple medalists[edit]

I agree as well, this is not really Wikipedia knowledge if it is incomplete. If someone convinces FISA to make their events and athletes database available under CC0 license (or compatible), I’d import all missing athlete profiles (open age competitors of Olympics, World Rowing Champs, European Rowing Champs, and World Rowing Cup) and their results to Wikidata and it would be pretty simple to evaluate statistics like that—and many others. Yole de mer[edit]

What about "Yole de mer" or "Yole de mere" boats? I noticed that some federations held national championships in those between around 1920 and 1955 (male and female ). Did World Rowing held world championships in those? 213.149.62.61 (talk) 16:08, 21 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

All time medal table[edit]

The all-time medal table is tagged with both "failed verification" and "unreliable source?" tags. The current figures (to 2019) do not agree with the cited source. The "unreliable source?" tag points out that the source does not include adaptive events, but it appears that the editors who have done updates to the table for recent years have included adaptive events. This, for example, presumably explains the fact that the figure for GBR agrees with the source for silver & bronze but is 4 different for gold. The figures in the table are therefore presumably a hybrid, including adaptive for recent years but not for earlier years. We had also noted that the source had at least one error (see the edit summary for my recent edit for the bronze figure for JPN). It would obviously be good if we could find a complete & accurate source to use. --David Biddulph (talk) 21:04, 1 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hosting countries[edit]

Germany hosted the event 4 times including west Germany. That is technically correct. However, west Germany is the same nation today referred just as Germany.
