Improvement needed[edit]

This article currently reads like original research. Surely there are some good sources on this subject that could be summarized. -- SiobhanHansa 20:23, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In all my experience as a planner, workforce housing is distinguished from affordable housing as hitting higher income bracket that isn't generally served by affordable housing programs but often finds difficulty finding housing in certain cities or regions or popular locations near transit or work centers. So workforce housing is not the same as affordable housing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.132.121.227 (talk) 20:09, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There's more to workforce housing...[edit]

I've actually never heard of workforce housing being related to "affordable housing". Workforce housing is an industry term used to describe camp accommodations for remote workers in the resource industry (oil & gas, mining, forestry, etc.). Sometimes referred to as "workforce camps", "man camps", or "open camps", these accommodations are usually comprised of modular buildings that are transportable and sometimes temporary. They are situated close to the remote work site, where traditional accommodations aren't available. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.210.5.253 (talk) 16:09, 29 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
