Now an article

So I've written up a first draft for a general article on human work / labor:

  • I flagged the whole thing as needing more references since this isn't my specialty nor do I have library access right now.
    • Several paragraphs are also marked inline to add commentary, especially for stronger statements.
    • I started a list-defined reference section with a few easy, online citations too.
  • The main goal throughout was to seed a thorough article while avoiding controversial statements.
    • While I did pull it mostly out of my own head, I don't think there should be original synthesis or insight in it.
    • Some good books on the topic should (hopefully) back-up or correct almost everything I wrote.
    • Because I tried to avoid strong claims for now, it reads a bit like a wishy-washy essay, with some spots bordering on weasel words.
  • In the Description section, I was mainly trying to add some detail to get past the fuzzy edges of "what is work?"
    • The Tom Sawyer mention is sort of a non-sequitur with obvious American bias, but it was the clearest example of "work as state of mind" I could think of.
  • I added a request for images instead of putting in some myself...
    • Just a weird wiki-hangup of mine about posting pictures I haven't taken myself.
