Surname spelling[edit]

This article has two spellings of Manone. This should be fixed.

Maybe it should or could be. Can you 2601:204:d502:5e30:7415:32e6:9f94:ed62 be bothered to describe the problem a bit more precisely? It might help clarify your thoughts on the topic, which would certainly help other editors reading this page. Although I don't mind trying to help I don't think I can be bothered to do that initial work for you. Best wishes DBaK (talk) 22:33, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • The article accurately notes that his last name was spelled "Mannone" on the Bluebird Records 78 releases - not how he usually spelled it himself. -- Infrogmation (talk) 02:49, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Well. I had rather hoped that the complainant might pop back up to explain their beef, but perhaps they will not. Ho hum. Thanks Infrogmation for that – ermmmm ... I'm not sure that the article really notes the spelling difference – it certainly lists it for the records, and indeed that one song in the body text. I was wondering: maybe if we did actually note it – like saying the spelling Mannone was used for some/all/whatever releases yadda yadda – might that help readers, and avoid the confusion evident in the query? Or maybe (a) is that just spoonfeeding readers a bit too much, given that it's pretty clear right there in the article; and/or (b) it might not be kosher to insert that kind of text without a source – is it OR if we point it out, or is it okay because it is just pointing out what is already there ... or what?? Sheesh. I have a bit of an inclination to let sleeping dogs lie, but would be interested to know what you think. Cheers DBaK (talk) 18:21, 9 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
