Austrian?[edit]

Schaeffler was born in Kaufbeuren, Bavaria, Germany (German Empire in 1915). He was a Bavarian champion in his youth and a candidate for the German Olympic team. I don't see a reason why he's called "Austrian", maybe somebody could explain. HerkusMonte (talk) 10:02, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Founder?[edit]

In listing the runs named after Schaeffler, it says that Willy “helped found” Arapahoe Basin. I think the author was thinking of Sandy Schauffler, who was one of the co-founders of A-Basin (and for whom the run Schauffler is named). A-Basin was young but already founded (in 1946) by the time Willy got there (in 1948).
