Weasel words[edit]

The article needs a cite and an explanation for the idea that Symington invented the first "practical" steamboat. Fitch had been operating a moderate successful service a decade before this boat and Symington's wasn't as successful in any sense as Fulton's (leading to the later usually being credited as the inventor of the entire idea; see also). — $Llywelyn II$ 05:46, 14 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
