Can anyone add to this article by adding the outcome of the senator's proposal? A successful outcome (in favor of the proposal) would seem another token step in repudiating America's wars of genocide against native-Americans in the 18th- and 19th-centuries. The post-war Germans have certainly repudiated the bravery and self-sacrifice of many men who were heroes prior to 08 May 45, so there is a precedent for doing so. And, even if one doesn't agree with that assessment, it would appropriate to add an objective account of what the outcome was. (71.22.47.232 (talk) 07:45, 1 July 2010 (UTC))[reply]

Did it go through or not? A successful outcome (in favor of the proposal) would appear to be a token step in repudiating the United States' wars of genocide against native-Americans in the 18th- and 19th-century. Post-war Germany has repudiated the bravery and sacrifice of many men who were heroes prior to 09 May 1945, so there is a precedent for doing so.

Even if one does not agree with that assessment of US policies towards native-Americans in theory and practice, the article would benefit from an objective and unbiased report on the outcome of the senator's efforts. (71.22.47.232 (talk) 07:53, 1 July 2010 (UTC))[reply]
