Untitled[edit]

The "Abridgement of the Prerogatives" is attributed to the Franciscan John Cross (a.k.a. John Moor, Joannes de Sancta Cruce) here. This is certainly of some interest for the context, because John Cross came to England in 1687 (ODNB). The ODNB makes explicit that Clagett was trying to make Catholic beliefs ridiculous in publishing this item and the one before. Charles Matthews (talk) 20:10, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Some Points To Clarify[edit]

"Dr. Thomas Stephens, author of notes on Statius." Is notes on Statius a document or book or other type of scholarly reference?

"he was admitted a pensioner..." 2 points here: 1) Language is not clear about whether he was admitted with the title of pensioner or if he admitted someone who was a pensioner. 2) The word pensioner, in general use, may indicate a retiree in a lot of reader's eyes. Is there a definition from the time period that should be included for clarity?

"who died eighteen days after him" Including the date of her death makes a more clear reference.
