This article needs a disambiguation page. There is also a William Burke I who was an actor http://imdb.com/name/nm0121904/ and a William Burke II who is also an actor http://imdb.com/name/nm0121905/ Currently the Wikipedia page for the movie À nous la liberté has a link to this page, which is incorrect.

I would argue that William Burke and his accomplice, William Hare, were not "serial killers" as defined in most popular criminological studies and certainly not in the Wikipedia entry. In the Wikipedia entry they cite Petiot as an avarice motivated serial killer because the number of people he killed was excessive compared to the amount he gained from their deaths, therefore implying a type of sociopathic behaviour behind his crimes. Burke and Hare killed pretty much so they could drink more and didn't have to dig up graves. I have not changed this, but hope the author will back into his/her subject.Byshee (Byshee 15:23, 12 November 2007 (UTC))[reply]
