Trivia section[edit]

Is it really right to have a "Trivia" section in an article about a school shooting? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Panoz (talkcontribs) 00:54, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Problems with this article[edit]

This article has no citations or references to sources. Also, I added the "objectivity" tag because the tone of the article is, at times, inappropriate for one of this nature. There is also a fair amount of information that is of questionalbe relevance.--Yatta! 21:35, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There was just a about 5 lines of waste material written on this page, referring to the two perpetrators as useless pieces of **** and suggesting some questionable forms of punishment. I deleted the lines. This article should perhaps be tagged to rpevet anything further like this? (Vampiricduckie 19:08, 8 June 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Motive?[edit]

Do we have any clue as to the motive? All this does is say what happened, but no clue as to why. --Golbez 11:49, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pregnant teacher[edit]

Just for the record: There were rumors at the time that the teacher killed in the shooting, Shannon Wright, was pregnant, though she was not. To quote this article:
"In Jonesboro, a false rumor that Shannon Wright, the teacher killed in the Westside shootings, was pregnant was picked up by some media outlets. Soon thereafter, police called a news conference to dispel that rumor and another that incorrectly said the two suspects in the case were cousins." End redirect?[edit]

This article is redirected to an article entitled with the murders' names. This is against Wikipedia convention. Furthermore, the names are not that well known, not like Lee Harvey Oswald or John Hinkley.

Recommend retitling the article. Auchansa (talk) 06:50, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have no objections to you restoring this article, then redirecting Mitchell Johnson and Andrew Golden to here, but both articles should not exist at the same time because they have almost the same information as each other and you are right that the murderers are that well known. It is a basically a WP:ONEEVENT thing sine I honestly don't think anyone cares about their recent legal troubles. We had a similar issue with Michael Skakel and Martha Moxley. One was redirected to the other because they had the exact same information and Moxley's murder was only notable because of its connection to the Kennedy family. Please note that on 26 May 2012, this article was initially merged into an article that had the title of Mitchell Johnson and Andrew Golden. That merger was subsequently undone and redone several times before a merger agreement was reached. The merged article was, in several naming iterations, eventually moved to 1998 Westside Middle School shooting, to follow the naming conventions for events. In the merged-to banner above I have flagged the initial merger, not subsequent mergers disagreements, reversions or name changes. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 01:28, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
