Proposed change of infobox from "settlement" to "legislature"[edit]

I believe that the "legislature" type of infobox would be more fitting for this page than the "settlement" type. This is due to the fact that West Lancashire is not a settlement but a district and a borough, and that West Lancashire Borough Council is by far the largest topic on this page. By changing the infobox from legislature to settlement, it would be possible to add the diagram of seats on West Lancashire Borough Council to the infobox itself.

Alternatively, I propose creating a separate page for West Lancashire Borough Council.

Use of image in infobox[edit]

@DragonofBatley: My contention with the image currently used in the infobox is that it is hardly illustrative of the subject of the article, West Lancashire as a borough. It is a photograph of part of Ormskirk as seen from a farmer's field, with a hedge in the way. While there aren't any rules against the inclusion of the photograph as such, you may wish to refer to the Wikipedia:Manual of Style pertinence and encyclopedic nature section which states "Images must be significant and relevant in the topic's context", as well as the image quality section, which states that the best quality images available should be used (a quick search on Wikimedia Commons reveals that there are much better quality images than the one currently used).

Taking South Norfolk, North West Leicestershire and Worthing as random examples, the images used focus on either points of interest or council offices; the current photo focuses on neither. Asrieltheoracle (talk) 13:28, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Asrieltheoracle:: I have no issues with changing the photo if need be. Maybe to one of Ormskirk itself or Skem. I wouldn't be against that. In fact I'll have a look for one after replying to you. The images I add to each article of a district borough town etc are to help enhance the article. Give some photos of a place people might never go or have seen. Give the article more then a map diagram and lots of tables. Engage it more with a couple of photos. I agree the current image can be changed. DragonofBatley (talk) 13:35, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
