In Wisconsin, there are 3 municipalities that exist within Wisconsin counties:cities, villages,towns.See Political subdivisions of Wisconsin. In many of the Wisconsin towns, they share the same name as the city or village-yet they are politically separated. Hence, the town of Wausau is politically separated from the city of Wausau and both of them are in Marathon County, Wisconsin.Thank you-RFD (talk) 22:48, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
